They find themselves swept up in the mysterious disappearance of scientist Clyde Wynant, whether they like it or not. An adaptation of the famous novel by Dashell Hammett, which introduced the “married couple as sleuths” genre. Guest starring Asta the dog.

In our adaptation of this 1916 feminist play, loosely based on true events, Minnie Wright has been arrested for strangling her husband while he slept. As the sheriff and county attorney scour Minnie’s house for evidence, Mrs. Peters the sheriff’s wife and her friend Mrs. Hale take care of packing up a few things in the kitchen. They find some pretty interesting items there — but it's probably nothing, just women’s trifles, right?

Alex LaFreniere
Alex is very excited to be returning to PMRP for his 6th show. Most recently, he appeared as Desmond Cleese in Women Behind the Curtain. Alex is thrilled to be taking on the role of Nick Charles and would like to thank his partner Jazz, his cat Kevin, and his trusty cocktail shaker for their support throughout the rehearsal process.
Amelia Smith
Amelia is delighted to be making her voice acting debut on the PMRP mainstage! You may have seen her previously in PMRP’s Alice in Wonderland at Watch City or on the foley teams for The King in Yellow and Gender-Swapped Star Trek. She also just wrapped up performing in Marian with Theatre@First, and you can catch her next month in Richard III with Dream Role Players. Offstage, Amelia works very hard to spite the too-hot sun as an engineer at a nuclear fusion energy startup. Big thanks to the whole cast and crew, and especially to her partner, Robert!
Andrew Winson
Andrew has been acting on the North Shore and Boston and places in between or beyond for the past 20-plus years, a fact he doesn't care to dwell on. He could most recently be seen as Thomas Devereaux in the Quannapowitt Players production of Murder in Green Meadows, and most recently heard as various characters in The Madmen's Guild's I've Got No Spoon, in collaboration with the PMRP podcast. Andrew is 6'8" and does not play basketball.
Barry Ford
Barry (they/them) is a former theater kid and radio show lover who’s been coming to PMRC shows since 2016. This is their first ever performance with PMRC, and they're thrilled to take part as a foley artist for The Thin Man! Their favorite fictional detective is Hercule Poirot and their favorite classic radio show is The Whistler.

Brian is an Allston-based writer and actor who politely suggests you continue your streak of seeing superb Somerville shows by checking out Theater@First's 'Festival@First 12: Love is Love.' (The fact that a thing he wrote, 'Love & Deviltry', is one of the plays that'll be performed is purely coincidental.)

Hannah Baker
Hannah was most recently involved with PMRP as the director and co-playwright of the cursed play The King in Yellow. Watch for her this summer as Ratcliffe in Richard III with Dream Role Players. Hannah is a lawyer for a government agency and lives in Somerville with her dear cat.

Jaimie Carlson
Jaimie is delighted to be performing with PMRP for the fourth time! Outside of getting her steps in by hauling around all the Foley equipment, Jaimie can be found wrangling recalcitrant robots, writing quizbowl tournaments, or just sitting by the Esplanade with some coffee and a good book.
Jamie Lin
Jamie is a Taiwanese-American actor, director & playwright originally from the Bay Area. For PMRP, she previously assistant directed CONFIDENCE CONFIDANT (Spring 2019) with Amanda Balagur, made sound effects for THE PREMATURE BURIAL (Halloween 2017), and voiced a variety of British women over the years. She’s thrilled to bring another brilliant Michael Lin script to the stage with this splendid septet of actors and duo of fantastic foley wizards. Special thanks to Jeremy for all his pinch-hitting!
Jay Sekora
Jay is taking a bit of a break after a very busy past twelve months or so with PMRP, and just helping out with equipment this show. Besides acting and sound, he’s directed adaptations of THEM! and Night of the Living Dead. He thanks his beloved partner Mare, with whom every day is a celebration, for introducing him to this wonderful group.
Jenn Benfield
Jenn is thrilled to perform with PMRP for the first time. Previous roles with T@F include Proof (Catherine) and Love, Loss, and What I Wore. Jenn costume designs for the stage series Mrs. Hawking (Breaking Light Productions), and has been most recently seen as the Distinguished Matron in Mrs. Hawking: Fallen Women. Special thanks to her biggest supporters: John, Mom, Shaughn, Nu, and Phoebe. Jenn appears courtesy of Merlin and Mona, the furry gremlins who have resentfully tolerated her leaving the house.
Jeremy Holstein
Jeremy has been working with PMRP for over a decade now, mainly as a director and scriptwriter (a dozen Sherlock Holmes adaptations) but also occasionally as an actor (Cask of Amontillado, Metropolis.) He is currently writing/editing the PMRP podcast (podcast.pmrp.org) and will have a short story in this fall's MX Anthology of original Sherlock Holmes stories (https://mxpublishing.com/) entitled the Adventure of the Bishop’s Gambit, his fifth to be published in the series. Jeremy is the current Artistic Director of the PMRP.
Jessica Conger-Henry
Jessica is one of New England's most mysterious cryptids. Some say she lives in the North River in Salem. Others say she haunts the MBTA tunnels. If you listen closely at night and are very unlucky, you can hear her howl "Well, actually" into the wind. She's done many shows with PMRP and can be perceived in the feature Most Likely on Amazon Prime. Otherwise do not perceive her, we beg of you. It's for your own good.
Joel Priest
is making his second appearance in a PMRP show. He was last seen playing the part of Kelton in Plan 9 from Outer Space. You can frequently find Joel singing along to Hadestown, Hamilton, or any number of other musicals that start with the letter H, while driving a minivan full of teenagers across the sweeping plains of eastern Massachusetts.
Jonathan Mendoza
Jon is happy to be back on their third outing with PMRP! When not performing with PMRP, Jonathan is a Tabletop Roleplaying Game designer/writer, and performer/producer in the world of TTRPG Actual Plays; they most recently appeared on the Roads Uncharted Genesys Actual Play Podcast as a guest player. When not doing that, Jonathan is a drama therapy clinician specializing in therapeutic applications of roleplaying games; when not doing that, they are likely sleeping. Special thanks to Tori Queeno for dragging them into PMRP; they love it here.
Karen Sarao
Karen has been a member of the PMRP for an amount of time that would require the use of math to accurately determine. In addition to acting, she has been on the executive board, produced, performed Foley, and one time ran the digital effects board. Prior to Mrs. Hale, her most notable role is that of Jane T. Kirk in the company's annual production of Gender-Swapped Star Trek.
Kate Mahoney
Kate is thrilled to return to PMRP in another Arsene Lupin mystery, and she thanks Michael and Jamie for the privilege. Kate has performed with PMRP since 2015, after making her voice debut in Jekyll and Hyde. She also enjoyed her PMRP debut at the foley table for a summer mystery, and performs at several local community theaters.
Kevin Kordis
Kevin is delighted to be returning for his 8th summer mystery with PMRP. Look out for the premier of his new radio play The Renegotiation coming this Fall.
Kimberly Dauber
Kim is up to her old audio tricks. Lately, she has been experimenting with narrating audiobooks professionally and leaving herself enough free time to play video games. Sound design for this show is dedicated to her cat Goblin, who at time of writing was yelling and biting Kimberly’s leg in a futile effort to get dinner early.
Livie Keane
Livie is excited to return to the PMRP Arsene Lupin radiomatic universe! She previously appeared as the Captain of Steamship La Provence in The Arrest of Arsene Lupin. Other PMRP appearances include (but are not limited to) Aleksandra Mikhailovna Kuznetsova in Women Behind the Curtain, Col. Edwards in Plan 9 from Outer Space, and Maria in Metropolis. When she is not talking in funny voices, she is frantically trying to keep the rabbits away from her tomatoes so she can eat the tomatoes instead.
Maeve McCluskey
Maeve is thrilled to be performing in their first ever show with PMRP! Maeve is a passionate actor and vocalist who performs with community theatres throughout the Greater Boston area. Prior to The 13th Mystery, Maeve's most recent role was the Baker in Into the Woods, with the Colonial Chorus Players in Reading. They received a nomination for Best Actor in a Musical (Non-Professional) from BroadwayWorld Boston for their performance.
Meg Wickham
Meg is the official creepy stalker of PMRP as well as the nosiest person in the group. She is also utterly mad with power.
Michael Lin
Michael is grateful to the PMRP for enabling his Arsène Lupin obsession yet again. He hopes you enjoy this adaptation, for all the liberties it takes with the source material, and he apologizes for the notable absence of any pirates.
Michael McAfee
Michael is a long time participant in the PMRP, having served as actor/writer/sound editor/director/producer/managing director at various times over the last couple of decades. Most recently, he co-wrote the PMRP's adaptation of "Metropolis" (Spring 2023). His script adapting the HG Wells short story "The Inexperienced Ghost" will be performed this autumn in the PMRP's Halloween show. He will gladly talk with you about projects (his, yours, anyone's really).
Mollie Bourne
This is Mollie’s 4th show with PMRP and her second show with them in an acting role. Her other involvement has been on the foley team for last year’s A Study in Scarlet and foley coordinator for Women Behind the Curtain. She is so happy to be involved in theatre again thanks to community theatre organizations like PMRP!
Naomi Ibasitas
Naomi is an actor, stage manager, and director within the Boston fringe theatre community. She is very excited to be performing for PMRP again! Other acting credits include Disenchanted! (Mulan/Pocahontas) with the Walpole Footlighters, the 4th Annual Asian American Playwrights Collective Festival 2021 (various roles), and 7 Rooms: The Masque of the Red Death (Misha in Toasting Man, which Hortense also wrote) with Flat Earth Theatre. She is also heavily involved with the Mrs. Hawking series with Breaking Light Productions (which can be found on YouTube for your viewing pleasure at youtube.com/@mrshawking). Off the stage, she is a character performer with Spark a Dream Princess Parties! She graduated from Emerson College with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Studies.
Phoebe Roberts
Phoebe is a writer and director behind Breaking Light Productions and professor of writing and literature at Lesley University. This is her third mystery script performed by PMRP. She is best known as the creator of the Mrs. Hawking Victorian adventure series; watch the shows in full at youtube.com/@mrshawking.
Ray Zaslow
Ray is excited to be back behind the board for his third show with PMRP! When not working the soundboard, he can be found working at the Mosesian Center for the Arts, complaining about the summer heat, or at the nearest record store thumbing through the stacks.
Robert Thorpe II
Robert is delighted to be returning to PMRP for his second summer mystery. Recent credits of his include Othello (Ludovico) and Twelfth Night (Sebastian) with Dream Role Players, Book of Will (Boy Hamlet/Marcus) with Hub Theatre Company, and Hamlet (Ensemble) with Apollinaire Theatre. Many thanks to his friends, family, and partner Amelia for their support, as well as his friend Peter who knows Robert knows that Peter reads bios.
Stephen Nedell
Stephen is a Librarian with the Malden Public Schools but has only recently started to be involved in community performing arts. He appeared on The Dead Files (S3.E14 - Dark Inheritance 2014) as “Local Genealogist” and in Malden Community Theater's Summer 2023 production of 35MM: A Musical Exhibition (The Whore; The Bastard; Sarah's Father). This past Spring, he was in the Theatre Company of Saugus's production of Puffs where he played more than a dozen different roles. This is his first show performing with the PMRP.
Tori Queeno
Tori is thrilled to be participating in their 16th production with PMRP as a member of the foley team for The Thin Man and as foley coordinator for the entire Thirteenth Mystery show! Outside of PMRP, you can find Tori frequently performing in TTRPG actual play productions online and making "content" in the tabletop community overall. Follow them at ThatNerdTori on all platforms to keep up to keep up with their shenanigans! They would like to thank their partner (and fellow Thirteenth Mystery performer!), Jon, for loving and supporting them in their creative endeavors, as well as their cat, Persephone, for being a benevolent furry overlord.
Émile Lewis
Émile has been acting nonstop for thirty-something years in his award-winning role as 'Émile Lewis.' They've also performed at Improv Boston, the Rozzie Square Theatre, with the Post-Meridian Radio Players, and in the shower. Her favourite performance thus far has been Sir Joseph Porter, KCB in the MIT Gilbert & Sullivan Players' 2018 production of HMS Pinafore. As you can guess, Émile is very flexible about pronouns as long as nobody calls them 'Emily.' Émile is currently writing for a long-form podcast drama with Hear Me Out Productions. This is his first foley performance.
